STONE (NO. 5 OF 9) DEC. 2010 (2011)
Stone (no. 5 of 9) Dec. 2010 "Qalandiya",
Lamp, wood, glass, battery (Magic lantern).

A collaboration with Lena Bergendahl.
Part of A Minor History of Creativity.

Stone (no. 5 of 9) Dec. 2010 "Qalandiya" is a light installation whose design is taken from 1600's Magic Lantern. This was the first device created to project images and is also the starting point of the moving image. Unlike original design that is built into a box, the procedure when the light goes from its source, through the lenses and diapositive is visible to the viewer. Qalandiya is a Palestinian village and an Israeli military check-point in Ramallah, Palestine.

Installation view: In These Great Times, Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo, 2014.
