Inner Pond

Inner Pond

7:50 min, installation, color, sound, 2003

A curved, horizontal screen divided in two; the seam between the two parts is the most essential element. The seam in the circle reveals the rectangular origin of the image. The material comes from two trips filmed at night, resulting in an abstract landscape. The audio is a compilation of several manipulated sounds, among others the scratching from an old vinyl and “If Ye Love Me” by T. Tallis, reversed and stretched. A voice sings: Save me.
